MONSTERFISH

Picture from "Nordlys" This monsterfish was landed by a local fisherman just outside Kvaløy, Tromsø. It is a Trachipterus arcticus - or Silver Halibut in english. In Norwegian it is called Sølvkveite. The fish is very rare and lives in deep waters 300 - 600 meters in the North East Atlantic. The fish can be up to 300 cm. long.
